Coming out of a ratings low prompted by last year’s Hollywood strikes, broadcast networks have successfully regained their linear audience — and CBS is leading the charge.

Since the start of the spring season, CBS has scored the biggest primetime audience among the four major broadcasters for six nights a week, according to Nielsen most current data from Feb. 12 through April 14, TheWrap can reveal exclusively.

“Linear is growing, streaming is growing gangbusters — all of it together is growing — and it’s really about the shows,” CBS Research Chief Radha Subramanyam told TheWrap exclusively.

    You’re overlooking a very salient fact. CBS has long had the reputation of being the “Old People Network,” but some years ago Nielsen confirmed that those over 50 were now the largest consumers of broadcast programming. So why would CBS chase the generations that only watch TikTok? Our money is just as good as theirs, if not better, and they darn well know it. “The Demo” belongs in a museum along with carbon paper and phone books.
