President Joe Biden’s press conference on Thursday drew an estimated 24.2 million viewers, according to Nielsen figures.

Biden’s first solo press conference of the year aired from around 7:30 p.m. ET to 8:30 p.m. ET and was broadcast on eight difference television networks. That includes ABC, which delayed the start of its ESPYs sports awards coverage as a result.

A majority of the viewership was in the 55+ age range, where 19.2 million viewers watched the event live. In the 18-34 age range, just over 1 million viewers saw the event, and of adults in the 35-54 age range, 3.6 million viewers watched live.

Breaking down the ratings, Fox News topped all news networks with 5.67 million total viewers and 835,000 in the 25-54 demographic. ABC News came in second with 4.98 million total viewers — however, the broadcast network topped Fox News in the 25-54 demographic with 879,000 viewers. CBS News came in third, drawing 3.60 million total viewers, and 611,000 viewers in the 25-54 age range.

NBC News drew 3.55 million total viewers and 319,000 in the 25-54 demo, while MSNBC drew 2.52 million total viewers and 319,000 in the demo, giving NBCUniversal a wide reach across its platforms that would put it in second to Fox News when combined. With viewership from CNBC added in, NBC’s networks drew 6.25 million viewers. CNN saw 2.22 million total viewers and 439,000 in the demo.

In comparison, Biden’s debate against Republican candidate Donald Trump in June, which reignited fears about the president’s capabilities, drew over 51.3 million total viewers across all broadcast and cable networks that simulcasted the debate.

Additionally, Biden’s recent interview with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos brought in 8.5 million total viewers, topping its timeslot across major demographics.

“The Boys” debuted its fourth season to over 1 billion viewing minutes on Prime Video.

Amid the June 13 launch of the superhero show’s first three episodes, “The Boys” scored 1.19 billion viewing minutes during the week of June 10-16, according to Nielsen streaming data. Prime Video previously touted “The Boys” Season 4 had exceeded its previous season’s viewership by 21% in its first four days on the streamer, with its fourth season reaching No. 1 on Prime Video in 160 countries.

“The Boys” was the No. 3 most-watched streaming program of the week, clocking in behind “Bridgerton” and “Your Honor.” Viewership for “Bridgerton” nearly tripled that of “The Boys,” with the Netflix romance series scoring 3.47 billion viewing minutes during the week.

While “Bridgerton” had slid down to the No. 9 spot on the Nielsen charts last week with Season 3 out for several weeks, Part 2 boosted “Bridgerton” back to the top of the Nielsen streaming list. While the over 3 billion viewing minutes includes viewership across the show’s three installments, the four new episodes accounted for nearly 2.5 billion minutes — over 70% — of this week’s viewership.

Meanwhile, Bryan Cranston-led “Your Honor” continued to gain buzz, logging 1.89 billion viewing minutes across Netflix and Paramount+ in its third week on Netflix, ranking as the week’s No. 2 most-watched series. That’s up 24% from the previous week, when the Showtime original scored 1.53 billion viewing minutes.

Disney+ staple “Bluey” took the No. 4 spot on the streaming list with 1.16 billion viewing minutes, while Glen Powell’s “Hit Man” came in fifth place with 1.06 billion viewing minutes in its second week on Netflix, up slightly from the 984 million minutes the show scored during its debut week.

“Hit Man” also ranked as the most-watched streaming movie of the week and nearly doubled the viewership for “Inside Out,” which saw an uptick during the opening weekend of “Inside Out 2.” “Inside Out” was the second most-watched streaming movie of the week with 613 million minutes viewed, while Netflix’s “Under Paris” took third place with 482 million minutes viewed.

Eddie Murphy’s “Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F” debuted as Netflix’s most-watched title of the week.

After arriving on the streamer on July 3, the action-comedy scored a whopping 41 million views during the week of July 1, ranking as both the most-watched title and movie of the week as it reached the Top 10 list in 93 countries.

“Axel F” booted “A Family Affair” out from the top spot on the English films list, with the Nicole Kidman, Zac Efron and Joey King-led flick scoring the No. 2 spot on the list this week with 31.9 million views, up from the 26.8 million views brought in during its first week on Netflix last week. Third place on the English films list went to Jessica Alba’s “Trigger Warning,” which hit 8 million views in its third week on the list.

After dominating the non-English film chart in early June, French thriller “Under Paris” — which depicts a giant shark making the Seine river its home — regained popularity ahead of the Paris Olympics. The flick moved up from the No. 4 spot to No. 3 on the most popular non-English films list ever with 88.2 million views to date, just behind “Troll” with 103 million views and “Society of the Snow” with 98.5 million views.

“Under Paris” jumped back up to become the most-watched non-English movie of the week with 3.6 million views in its fifth week on the list, surpassing the 3.2 million views brought in by Argentinian film “Goyo” and Indian drama “Maharaj,” which sat in the second and third spots on the non-English list this week, respectively.

“Bridgerton” Season 3 also saw some movement on the most popular English TV list, with the newest installment now standing as the No. 8 most-watched TV show on the streamer with 95.8 million views to date. “Bridgerton” Season 3 outpaced both “Bridgerton” Season 2, which sits in the No. 10 spot on the list with 93.8 million views, as well as “Stranger Things” Season 3, which took the No. 9 spot with 94.8 million views to date.

After months of “Bridgerton” hype across Season 3’s two-part release in May and June, viewership Season 3 fell slightly with 4 million views this week, positioning Season 3 in the No. 4 spot on the week’s most-watched English TV shows. Instead, “Supacell” scored the top spot on the list with 11.8 million views, while limited series “The Man With 1000 Kids” came in second place with 6.6 million views and “Worst Roommate Ever” took third place with 5.4 million views.

The 2024 BET Awards saw a double digit uptick in viewership when compared to last year.

Airing from approximately 8 p.m. to 11:26 p.m. on Sunday, June 30, the BET Awards scored 3 million total viewers across 10 Paramount-owned networks — including BET, Logo, Comedy Central, MTV, VH1 and Nickelodeon, among others — according to Nielsen live-plus-same-day figures.

That’s up 10% from last year’s BET Awards, which drew in a cross-platform viewership of 2.8 million viewers. The show, which featured performances from Will Smith, Victoria Monét and Tyla, was the day’s most-watched program across TV and ranks as the most-watched cable awards show this year.

When including the red carpet live show and the encore airing, viewership for the BET Awards grew to 4.3 million viewers, also marking a 10% uptick from last year.

The ceremony also drew in 1.3 million viewers within the key cable demo among adults 18-49 across the 10 networks, marking a 7% increase in demo viewers from last year and its highest demo viewership in five years. On BET alone, the show reached nearly 2 million viewers, and saw a 15% uptick in demo viewers from last year.

With striking speeches from host Taraji P. Henson, who made a call to action ahead of the 2024 election, as well as Donald Glover, who pointed out how it doesn’t “make sense” that he shares the same number of BET Awards as Sam Smith, the show was buzzy on social media as well. In addition to the BET Awards ranking as the No. 1 trending topic on X, the show scored the most social media engagement across TV with 10.5 million social interactions and more than 82% year-over-year growth.

Other buzzy moments included Smith debuting his brand new song “You Can Make It” alongside Fridayy and the Sunday Service Choir, as well as Usher’s emotional 13-minute speech while accepting his Lifetime Achievement Award, which was partially muted due to “an audio malfunction.”

Usher also won Best Male R&B/Pop Artist while SZA won the same honor in her respective category. Nicki Minaj and Kendrick Lamar were named Best Female and Male Hip-Hop Artist, respectively, while Tyla won Best New Artist.

“House of the Dragon” Season 2 scored a season-best 8.1 million viewers for Sunday’s episode “A Dance of Dragons” across HBO and Max, the network said on Tuesday. The fourth episode of the season also had its strongest week yet on Max thanks to holiday weekend catch-up viewing.

The ratings numbers come as the Season 2 premiere of the “Game of Thrones” prequel series hit 7.8 million viewers, Max’s biggest single-day audience to date.

Season 2 hit its halfway point with a battle episode that also marked at least one major character death, spurring chatter across social media on Sunday night for one of the few appointment-viewing shows that still draws crowds at the precise time of its airing.

The show, which is run by Ryan Condal, is a cornerstone of HBO and Max’s content strategy going forward as the network aims to expand the universe of “Game of Thrones” series with yet another prequel series, “Knight of the Seven Kingdoms,” already in production. Condal is serving as an EP on that show alongside author George R.R. Martin.

“House of the Dragon” will continue the story of the Targaryen Civil War for at least one more season as HBO swiftly renewed the show for a third season ahead of the Season 2 premiere.

The drama series airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on HBO.

“Your Honor” dominated Nielsen’s streaming charts as the most-watched streaming title in its second week on Netflix.

While the Showtime series released its second season on Paramount+ in March 2023, the Bryan Cranston-led show saw an impressive viewership bump following its Netflix debut on May 31, leading “Your Honor” to reach 1.53 billion viewing minutes across Netflix and Paramount+ during the week of June 3-9.

The week’s viewership nearly tripled from the 544 million viewing minutes the show brought in during the previous week. At the time, “Your Honor” stood as the week’s No. 9 most-watched acquired streaming program.

“Your Honor” was the week’s most-watched title overall, with “Bluey” coming in second place with 1.15 billion viewing minutes on Disney+ and “Grey’s Anatomy” coming in third place with 1.1 billion viewing minutes across Hulu and Netflix.

Glen Powell’s “Hit Man” also debuted as the week’s fourth most-watched streaming title and the most-watched streaming movie of the week with 984 million minutes viewed on Netflix. “Hit Man” led the Netflix pack when it came to movies, with French thriller “Under Paris” coming in second place with 636 million minutes viewed, “Godzilla Minus One” coming in third place with 529 million minutes viewed and “The Lego Movie” taking the No. 4 spot on the list with 342 million minutes viewed.

Behind “Hit Man” on the overall list came “Eric,” which scored 926 million minutes viewed on Netflix, “Heartland,” which brought in 924 million minutes viewed across Hulu, Netflix and Peacock, and “Sweet Tooth,” which scored 874 million viewing minutes on Netflix.

“Bridgerton” remained on the overall most-watched streaming list in the No. 9 spot with 806 million minutes viewed across its 20 available episodes, at the time. This interval fell several weeks after Season 3, Part 1 debuted on May 16 and just before the Part 2 release on June 13, so viewership can be expected to jump for the following week’s streaming report.

ABC News’ interview with President Joe Biden won its timeslot across major demographics on Friday night, as well as bringing in the most viewers with 8.5 million viewers in the fast overnight national ratings. The early numbers also showed ABC coming out on top in both in the 18-49 and 25-54 age demographics, though the 18-49 number just narrowly edged out Fox’s “WWE Friday Night SmackDown.”

The special, with anchor George Stephanopoulos interviewing Biden amid rising concern over his mental acuity and whether he can remain the Democratic Party’s nominee, was also the most-watched ABC News primetime non-election/debate program since Stephanopoulos’ 2018 interview with former FBI director James Comey.

In separate fast affiliate viewership numbers, ABC’s Biden one-on-one came ahead of a near-tie between CBS’s “Lingo” and Fox’s “WWE Friday Night SmackDown,” the former drawing 2.1 million while “SmackDown” pulled 2 million in the early viewership report. A rerun of “Night Court” on NBC came in last with 1.2 million viewers.

The early affiliate ratings, tracking live plus same-day viewing, showed the interview pulling in a 0.58 rating in 18-49 to 0.55 for “SmackDown,” 0.18 for “Lingo” and 0.12 for “Night Court.”

In the 25-54 age range, ABC pulled a larger 0.91 rating, with “SmackDown” in a lower second with 0.72, “Lingo” trailing with a 0.26 and “Night Court” last with 0.19.

Biden’s interview drew a largely negative response, with voters and pundits seemingly not reassured following his disastrous debate performance against Republican candidate Donald Trump. The president also said he has not had a neurological exam and declined to agree to have one performed by an independent physician.

More accurate final ratings are not yet available.

“Bridgerton” Season 3 has officially become one of Netflix’s Top 10 most-watched shows ever.

After debuting its second half on June 13, the third installment has entered the streamer’s most popular English TV list with a viewing boost during the week of June 24, tallying up 91.9 million views to date. With Season 3’s addition, all three seasons of “Bridgerton” currently sit on the most popular TV list, with Season 1 at No. 4 with 113.3 million views and Season 2 at No. 9 with 93.8 million views, right above Season 3.

The romance show’s third installment booted Richard Gadd’s “Baby Reindeer” off the most popular TV list as it sat in the No. 10 spot last week with 86.9 million views. The limited series first entered the most popular list at No. 10 two months after it debuted in April with 84.5 million views logged.

“Bridgerton” Season 3 was also the week’s most-watched English TV series with 6.6 million views, while continuing to boost its previous installments. Season 2 came in fifth place with 2.1 million views and Season 1 took No. 6 with 2 million views, while spin-off series “Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story” came in eighth place with 1.8 million views.

In its first week on the streamer, sci-fi series “Supacell” took second place with 6.4 million views while “Worst Roommate Ever” Season 2 came in third place with 5.7 million views and “America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders” took the No. 4 spot on the list with 3.7 million views. Notably, Bryan Cranston-led “Your Honor” Season 1 wedged itself in between the “Bridgerton” buzz at No. 7 with 2 million views.

On the film front, Nicole Kidman, Joey King and Zac Efron’s “A Family Affair” debuted atop the English films list and became the week’s most-watched title after its opening weekend reached 26.8 million views. The comedy was a formidable opponent for Jessica Alba’s “Trigger Warning,” which brought in 26.3 million views in its second week on the platform, down just slightly from the 25.7 million views it scored in its first week.

Elsewhere, Polish comedy “Inheritance” continued its reign on the non-English films list, scoring first place for the second consecutive week with 8.2 million views, while Indian drama “Maharaj” came in the No. 2 spot on the list with 5.3 million views. “Under Paris” took third place in the Top 10 list during its fourth week with 5 million views.
